A Typical Day

ROUTINES

Developing a routine is important to the children, so we try to follow a similar format each day.
We like to start the day in a calm way, which allows parents access to the leader to pass on any information pertinent to their child. We operate an open door policy in respect to the Preschool supervisor and deputy supervisor, so please feel free to come and speak to us.

A typical day is as follows:

9.00 – Welcome all children into the setting, each child will hang up their belongings, self register using their pictures and names

9 – 9.30 – free play

9.30 – 10.00 - the register is taken, daily song, weather song, news time, a leader of the day is also chosen

10.00 – 10.30 – snack time – using the fruit that each child is encouraged to bring in to share with their friends, all children are also offered a drink of water or milk

10.30 – 11.00 – free play

11.00 – 11.45 – morning activity, usually adult led

11.45 – 12.00 – story/song time, home time for some.

12.00 – 1.00 – lunch time

1.00 – 1.30 – free play

1.30 – 1.50 – quiet time

1.50 – 2.30 – afternoon activity, usually adult led

2.30 – 3.00 – circle time, story/song time, outside play

Sometimes the whole layout of the day will change due to visitors or certain activities that need to be done during different times.  If the weather is good then we try to move most of the activities etc outside for some much needed fresh air.
